Starting in Grand Lake Stream, we will take an overnight ride to Machias to see the beautiful and immense wildlife and scenic blueberry barrens of Downeast Maine. We will stay the night in the popular Machias River Inn and eat with the locals at Helen's Restaurant. The cost of a double occupancy room is $150.00 (their AAA, AARP, Business rate). As you make your reservation, you may see on your confirmation email a higher per room fee. The manager there tells me that their computer program is only taking reservations at their summer rate but he will be able to adjust the rate upon our arrival. He also mentioned they currently have about 15 rooms still available as of August 30th.
